, a company that designed and ran a study on what employees are using the internet for at work. The study analyzed 60 large businesses to determine what everyone is “working on” online.
The result? Ten percent of all network bandwidth at the businesses studied came from YouTube and Slingbox
, a program which allows employees to watch television from their computers. Use of Google Calendar and Google Docs was common in 80% of businesses. Of course, this is all in violation of the policy most businesses have against these programs. And, employees appear to be getting away with it…for now.
